MTV K X Girls Generation In NYC
Following stops in Seoul, Tokyo, and Paris, SMTown Live World Tour made its way over to New York City for a long-awaited, highly-anticipated show at Madison Square Garden. It was Girls' Generation's first trip together to the Big Apple -- a visit all the more meaningful due to the recent release of their first English single, "The Boys." With a brand new maxi single on the way leading up to their official US debut, the nine-member girl group stopped by MTV's Times Square studio for an exclusive interview with MTV K. Taeyeon, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Jessica, Yuri, Sooyoung, Sunny, Yoona, and Seohyun sat down with MTV K's own VJ Grace, just above hundreds of SONEs watching them outside live on the Times Square JumboTron. MTV K Presents: United Cube Live in NYC
K-pop sensations BEAST, 4Minute, and G.NA - collectively known as United Cube - recently began touring together in an effort to bring themselves closer to their fans all over the world. After successful concerts in Tokyo and Seoul, United Cube quickly announced that they would be adding tour stops in London, São Paolo, and wherever else they had fans supporting them!
Here at MTV K, we knew that we had to show the Cube family just how much their North American fans love them, so we invited them to perform for a lucky studio audience, live in MTV's Times Square studio. On October 10, 2011, BEAST, 4Minute, and G.NA put on their very first New York City performance -- telecast live on the Times Square JumboTron outside, above the hundreds of fans who came out to catch a glimpse of their favorite K-pop idols.

Fans were ecstatic when SM Entertainment announced that their annual concert tour featuring all of their major artists was going global! Well, as global as Asia and LA gets. For the first time in its history, SM Town Live came to the United States — and American K-Pop fans responded by selling out LA’s famed Staples Center! The 15,015 person show even landed at number 10 on Billboard’s Boxscore Concert Grosses chart.
